Fish Restaurant And Shop "Varkat" in Tirana

Enea, the owner, has a great passion for giving his quests a unique culinary experience grounded in the south albanian kitchen. We felt that from the first moment and had a unique experience by following his good advice. On top of that we had nice chat about his stay on the greek Island Paros and now being on the ferry to there made me remember to give this evaluation.

So so delicious great fresh seafood the Chef is so experienc and know how to handle the dishes very well

Had lunch today at this very charming and cozy restaurant. The service was on point, fast, professional and very welcoming. The food was out of this world, served fresh and in style. The best sea food I’ve had in many years.The chef came out and walked us through the menu. He was very knowledgeable and his love of cooking came through as he talked about his dishes. The food presentation was first class and everything tasted amazing.Fish Restaurant and Shop “Varkat” is one not to be missed if you’re in Tirana. Can’t wait to go back. I highly recommend it. Trust me you’ll be glad you tried it.Bon appetite!

Very nice chill atmosphere 👌 and clean in every aspect ! The food was excellent, made carefully with nice touches of Albanian cuisine,generally the food was absolutely delicious 😋 I would definitely recommend it for seafood and fish ! My suggestion is to ask for the catch of the day as they have different fish since is very fresh.... also the selection of wine is worth mentioning...

A true hidden gem in Tirana. Weve had our best sea food experience ever there. Great value for money and the Chef knows his way around and how to prepare brilliant food. He is super friendly and helpful and comes out from the kitchen to explain what are you about to get. If you are in Tirana and you have an affinity for sea food or just trying something unique, this place is a must see!

Amazing experience! There is no menu book, instead the chef came to us and explained the days menu. It changes often depending on the catch of the day, explains why everything is extremely fresh and tasty.Love the service, everyone was so friendly and attentive, the chef came out and checked on us a couple of times. Definitely deserve 5 stars or more.

Wonderful experience all around. I had the seafood pasta which was excellent. Our artichoke salad was fresh and very zesty. Kevin and Enea were very kind and courteous and presented the daily specials to us in perfect English!

A hidden gem, and happy stopped by. A very inviting staff that greets you, and goes through the menu with recommendations for what you’re interested in. A pleasant atmosphere and bright oceanic interior with subtle vibing tunes through the speakers.It’s not one of those places that you walk by, you have to find it, and thanks to google for that! Because of the already good Google reviews, I (54went to the "Varkat". Following the chefs recommendations, I was served an excellent octopus salad followed by perfect pasta linguine with seafood. The white wine served with it was also of very good quality. The atmosphere in the eight-table restaurant with a small outdoor area was bright and friendly.So I gladly join the positive majority and hope that you will share my delicious experience there.

Excellent family run fish restaurant. Food perfectly cooked and seasoned. Well thought out menu using the freshest of seasonal products. Friendly, welcoming with good ambience. Most of the guests were professional Albanians. Good English spoken. Five course meal for 2 people (excluding dessertwith 3 glasses of good red house wine cost about £37.

It was good that the chef came first and explained to us.I was grateful that the chef also considered about the volume.The assortment of raw fish and shellfish as an appetizer was especially wonderful. Combination of citrus aroma, vinegar acidity and apple sweetness was perfect. Shrimp are sweet and exquisite!I loved it so much.I felt that the salad was a little sour.I dont mention about services.Because I havent spoken even a single word.There were no guest on this day which is the whole city in the football mood.The price was reasonable.You can smoke semi outside area.

This is got to be the best fish restaurant in town. Top service, good wine and perfectly well prepared food. The mussels are the best I ever had, and I have had a lot. Thank you, the small fish fermented to perfction and the grilled prawns full of meat and great in taste.

This fish restaurant not in commercial area or even behind main Street, but not difficult to nevigate there. The menu is in Albanian, but cook chef explained and made some recommendations which was a good choice and I did enjoy the fish selection, particularly the shrimp he made it very tastful, and strong recommend this restaurant.

Excellent restaurant a bit out of the city center, its kinda hidden but well worth the walk. We were warmly welcomed by the waiter who explained the menu and gave good suggestions. The food was delicious, fresh and tasty. I had gnocchi twice :We also met the owner/chef who made sure that everything was going well and gave us a few tips on how to cook fish :All for a very affordable price.100%recommended!

Ive visited this restaurant almost two years ago, it wasnt easy to find but I had an amazing experience there! Family run place, extremely polite and friendly people, great service. Seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked. I will definitely come back to place next time I will be in Tirana.

As a tourist, its difficult to find good and tasty food. Luckily, thanks to google, found one of the best so far i had here in Tirana. If your a seafood lover, definitely must a try! Dinner here was the best culinary experience in Tirana.We have tried different stuff from the menu - crudo, carpaccio, pasta, dessert...And all of it was well prepared, tasty, nicely decorated.On top of that, I would also recommend their house wine (white)In the end, we were surprised by the price, which was really good, even for Tirana - great value for money!Highly recommended

It’s a little outside the heart of the city but totally worth the walk! We went to this place because of its preexisting positive google reviews! It surely didn’t disappoint! We arrived just after 20:00 on a Saturday evening and we were the only customers there. The server didn’t speak English so the chef came out to ask what we’d like and offer suggestions. My partner chose a sea food salad and he said it’s the best he’s ever tasted! Everything was fresh and delicious!

I rate this as one of the best seafood restaurants I have ever been to. I went two nights running, had sea bass the first night and grilled squid and prawns the next. Both perfectly cooked. The anchovy and octopus starter were the best I have ever had. The wine was excellent too. Service was really attentive. And I loved the way I was taken in and shown what fish was available. Really friendly and caring. Cant rate it more highly. Wasnt even put off by the clients smoking in the restaurant....something you just have to put up with in Albania. Lovely lovely restaurant.

Amazing restaurant!! Genuinely welcoming waiters and chefs. Super fresh fish and seafood, everything was delicious. There is no menu, but the chefs tells you what they have, and you tell him what you like! The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is very affordable (for foreigners). We had a 3 course dinner + drinks for around €9 a person.

We had a great meal here! Delicious grilled fish, a well composed salad, and really outstanding seafood linguine. Very reasonably priced, definitely great value for your money! We plan to return soon
